Past Event:

United Nations Youth and Student Association Nepal Participation at United Nations Model Conference held in New Delhi, India.

World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) organized 2nd Asia-Pacific Regional Model United Nations Conference in collaboration with Indian Federation of United Nations Associations from 9th to 12th February 2006 in New Delhi, India. The conference focused the role of youth in achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. Youth from 18 different countries of Asia-Pacific Region participated at the conference.

 

 

 

The Conference was attended by 31 delegations from 15 different countries in the Asia-Pacific Region:Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, China, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, South Korea, Pakistan, India, philippines, Russian Federation, Singapore, South Africa and Sri Lanka, making it a global platform for discussing various MDGs. Each delegation was composed of one UNA representative who has helped in promoting the MUN activity within different countries and at least 4 students on university level.

It enriched and broadened the knowledge of the participated youth about the role that United Nation has been playing in boosting socio- economic condition of the people of the world. It also added to the knowledge of the youth about World Federation of United Nations Association and its contributions in promoting youth empowerment. The Acting Secretary General of WFUNA, Ms. Perra Wells, played very important role in successfully piloting the conference and uniting youth under the MUN conference and providing wise and inspiring guidance to the youth to play constructive role in the days ahead in building a new world envisioned in the Charter of United Nations.
